This is all about when a job goes wrong, when corporate America is left to run things with no responsibility whatsoever. Please feel free to comment and commiserate. I'm sure I'll be in need of a co-author to the book this just _has_ to become.

So we meet...in a meeting

My first Rod encounter was in a Web meeting. We were all discussing how things were moving along when Rod addressed a question to me. As I was about three words into the explanation, he interrupted and asked the question again. I re-started my explanation and he let me get about five words before interrupting with the same question again. I paused, took a deep breath and resisted the temptation to jump the table and shout “IF YOU SHUT YOUR BLESSED PIE HOLE UP AND LISTEN, I’LL TELL YOU!” while choking him. And re-started. This time he listened and got his answer. Why did we have to go all through that?

Phantom Messages

I learn that Rod likes to leave my cohort Mike phantom messages. Our phone system allows you to post a voicemail without ever ringing someone’s line. This can be useful if you’re forwarding a message or if you need someone to do a lot of research on something and you want them to call back at their convenience. Rod likes to call Mike several times a day and leave messages asking questions that could be answered in two words or less if he would just call directly. Apparently he cannot condescend to spend 5 seconds on the phone with the likes of us.

Elitist schmuck. Reason #2 not to like him.
